as usual for these - the interview with the writer is a good window into their mind

Very unique story Ailse. Paired with the Hammershøi painting I was pulled in by the mood of the piece right from the start. Thank you for sharing.

Ah, thank you Scott! That's very lovely to hear.

"I want to take away the conditions I consider pertinent to my happiness, until I have no conditions at all, until I love everything."

This is beautiful. It's also so relevant as I think about my own "hallways" and the ways I can find my own "nosegays".

Wishing you well with the creation of those nosegays

Gorgeous essay! It's the perfect read for me going into autumn and thinking of all the rituals I like to do to make my apartment feel like home and feel like something I can hunker down in as the winter sets in

Ailsa Ross's avatar

Now I’m so curious about the autumn rituals you have for your own place, Laney.

I love to make apple cider- makes the whole apartment just smell so delicious! Also, just lighting as many candles as possible in the evenings, and I try to do also decorate a little corner to remind me of my family and home this time of year.

That all sounds extremely lovely. I’m all about the candles too.

They just make a room so cozy, especially in autumn/winter!
